A free MikroTik configuration generator for RouterOS v7
The MikroTik Configurator writes a complete RouterOS v7 configuration for your router, switch or access point. Pick your model, choose what the device has to do, answer only the questions that role needs, and paste the script into the terminal. For whole sites there is a Network board to draw the network and a Wi-Fi plan to see the signal in every room.
It is free, needs no account and runs entirely in your browser: nothing you enter, passwords and keys included, is sent to a server.
What it does
Wizard or advanced
A wizard for the common setups, or an advanced mode with 18 sections: bridge and VLANs, WAN, LAN and DHCP, firewall and NAT, IPv6, Wi-Fi, CAPsMAN, VPN, routing, QoS, hotspot and containers.
Checked before you get it
Overlapping subnets, duplicate VLAN IDs, a missing admin password, fasttrack that clashes with queues and a VLAN setup that would lock you out are caught before the script is shown.
Import your existing config
Paste an /export from a running router and edit that instead of starting over. Whatever the tool does not model is kept as it is.
Network board
Draw routers, switches, access points and cables like on a whiteboard. VLANs, locations, WireGuard, GRE, EoIP and VXLAN tunnels and BGP end up in the scripts, and the traffic analysis shows which firewall rule blocks a path.
Wi-Fi plan
Draw each floor with real wall materials and thickness, the meter cupboard and other obstacles, place access points with omni or sector antennas and see a heatmap for 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz with coverage per room.

Frequently asked questions
Is the MikroTik Configurator free?
Yes. There is no account, no subscription and no advertising. The scripts you generate are yours to use, also commercially.
Which RouterOS versions are supported?
RouterOS v7. You can pick the exact v7 release you run, and the script uses the syntax of that version. RouterOS v6 is not supported.
Is my configuration sent anywhere?
No. The tool runs in your browser. Device details, addresses, passwords and keys stay on your computer; your work is saved in your own browser and, if you want, in a file.
Can I start from my current configuration?
Yes. Paste the output of /export and the tool reads it into its settings. Parts it does not model are kept unchanged in the output.
Can it set up VLANs, WireGuard and CAPsMAN?
Yes: bridge VLAN filtering with a traffic matrix between VLANs, WireGuard and IPsec VPNs, CAPsMAN for managed access points, dual WAN failover, OSPF and BGP are all part of it.
Can I plan Wi-Fi coverage with it?
Yes. The Wi-Fi plan estimates the signal from walls, floors, obstacles and antennas and shows where an extra access point helps. It is an estimate, not a replacement for a site survey.
Is it safe to apply the generated script?
Read the script before you apply it, use Safe Mode and keep physical access to the device. The tool checks for common mistakes, but you stay responsible for your network.
